Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is something that most people are familiar with, either from prior personal experience or from hearing about a loved one's positive experience with chiropractic adjustments. Traditional chiropractic methods have a well-earned reputation for helping people in acute physical distress by correcting spinal distortions (or “subluxations”) and for promoting a wellness-oriented lifestyle.

A chiropractic adjustment offers relief and correction for those suffering from:

  • Neck conditions that are causing tension headaches, migraines, chronic neck pain and pinched nerves

  • Upper back conditions that can lead to issues such as pain, numbness or tingling running from chest down to the neck and arm; rib pain; breathing difficulties or Raynaud’s syndrome (issues with cold extremities)

  • Lower back conditions such as sciatica, herniated discs and pinched nerves

  • Pelvic imbalances such as sacroiliac syndrome, piriformis syndrome or short leg
syndrome that present themselves as pain in lower back, pelvis and/or radiating into the leg.

Subluxations – What Are They and How to Relieve Them?

Spinal subluxations occur when the nervous system is irritated and compromised from physical, chemical, or emotional stressors that the body does not recover from or adapt to properly. This yields pressure or irritation on the spinal cord and/or spinal nerves. By reducing nerve pressure in the spinal region, the chiropractor allows communication within the body to be more freely and easily expressed, so that back and neck pain or stubborn chronic spinal conditions can really begin to improve and enhance overall quality of life.

Traditional chiropractic care relieves pressure naturally in the spinal area of neurological compromise, not necessarily the injured region or the area that hurts. When pressure created by a subluxation is released, the wisdom within (the body’s innate intelligence) is better expressed through the communicative healing channels of the spine and nervous system.

An Integrated Approach to Chiropractic Care

In summary, traditional chiropractic care is one of the integrated services utilized by Dr. Stern, that focuses on every aspect of a person – physical, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental. Although traditional chiropractic services are primarily a form of physical adjustment, it can influence all others and serve as an important stepping stone to NSA and other services that treat the mind/body/heart.
